New Honda NSX-GT “Type S” Spotted Testing At Motegi

Facelifted GT500 vehicle based on final, limited edition NSX model

A redesigned version of the Honda NSX-GT GT500 broke cover during a private test at Twin Ring Motegi on Friday, based on the 2022 Honda NSX Type S.

The shots captured by photographer “Mappy Packman” show that the NSX-GT will adopt the redesigned grille and nose of the NSX Type S – Honda’s final, limited edition variant of the second-generation supercar, which begins delivery in 2022.

The NSX-GT ‘Type S’ is set to make its debut in the 2022 Autobacs Super GT Series, where it will compete against the all-new Nissan Z GT500 for the final two seasons of this current set of GT500 vehicle regulations. The new Z GT500 was also recently spotted at a private test at Fuji Speedway, in partial camouflage as it undergoes further aerodynamic developments.

This also opens a pathway for Toyota to update their existing GR Supra GT500 for next season.

It is likely that the new NSX-GT will make its official debut during the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon on 14 January. Honda is also expected to reveal their 2022 driver and team lineups at the Tokyo Auto Salon.
