2021 Goodbyes: IMSA’s GLTM Class, Part 1

All the cars from eight spectacular seasons of racing

Petit Le Mans 2021 saw the final curtain drawn on the GTLM era for IMSA.

A key part of the Le Mans relevance for the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship with cars conforming to the GTE regulations the class came into being after the merger between the ALMS and Grand-Am, effectively replacing the ALMS GT class as the Grand-Am GTD class slotted in behind with full GT3 spec cars coming soon afterwards.

GTLM has provided astonishing full-Pro competition with big name manufacturers and world class driving talent lighting up the whole IMSA package.

Here you’ll find every single car that has competed in at least one race from the creation of the class in 2014, plus some of the standout special liveries that have been carried by a number of the cars.

That is a total of 78 different entries featuring cars from seven different manufacturers, all bar one of which scored at least one race win in the GTLM era.

If the new-for-2022 GTD Pro class can provide even half of the drama that GTLM has served up in the past eight seasons then the fans will be delighted – For now though here are the cars that made the memories from 2014 – 2021.
