KTM To Offer A Road Car Version Of XBow GT2

KTM is set to produce a road-going model of the X-BOW GT2 racing car, which has recorded multiple race wins and a championship title in the GT2 European Series.

The KTM X-BOW GT2 is the latest version of the KTM X-BOW series, which is produced in a number of different varieties by KTM Sportcar GmbH in Graz, Austria including the GTX and GT4 derivatives.

The road car developers will be working hand in hand with the motorsport team, with engineers and technicians refining the design of the road-going version of the KTM X-BOW GT2 in an extensive research and development process.

The development includes performance testing, crashing testing, and initial road testing in Europe.

The development process will focus on lightweight construction, which will be achieved through optimised components and carbon fibre reinforced polymer bodywork.

Developers have opted for a carbon monocoque as a tried-and-tested safety cell. A reinforced canopy provides additional protection to passengers.

The KTM X-BOW GT2 is powered by a five-cylinder turbo engine from Audi, which is mounted in the rear and features a seven-speed direct shift transmission. Other features include a limited slip differential and rear-wheel drive.

KTM will provide further details of the KTM X-BOW GT2 and when the car is scheduled for launch at a later date.
