FIA WEC LMP2 race-winners Gabriel Aubry and Jazeman Jaafar will combine with the already announced Rob Hodes to contest the 2022 European Le Mans Series with LMP2 debutants Team Virage.
Hodes moves up with Virage to LMP2 after spending 2021 with the team in LMP3 in a joint ELMS and Michelin Le Mans Cup campaign.
He already has LMP2 experience after contesting the 2020 Petit Le Mans with Inter Europol Competition/PR1 Mathiesen and the 2021 Rolex 24 at Daytona with DragonSpeed.
Aubry has raced for multiple teams in LMP2 since 2018 in ELMS, IMSA and FIA WEC finishing as the Championship runner-up in the 2018/19 FIA WEC, a season that also saw him finish second at Le Mans with the Jackie Chan DC Racing team in 2019. He has taken class wins in both IMSA and WEC competitions in the class too.
Malaysian star Jaafar too has extensive LMP2 experience with race wins in both the FIA WEC and Asian Le Mans Series – His last LMP2 outing was a one-off with JOTA last season at the Monza round of the ELMS.
The Team Virage effort will see technical support provided from the JOTA engineering resource, in common with the programme undertaken last season with Racing Team Turkey.
