Eneos Becomes Title Sponsor Of The Super Taikyu Series

New sponsorship agreement begins this season

The Super Taikyu Organisation (STO) and Eneos Corporation have announced an agreement for the Japanese energy company to become the new title sponsor of the Super Taikyu Series, beginning this season.

“We are very grateful to Eneos Corporation for their support,” said STO president Harumi Kuwayama. “As Japanaims to realize a decarbonized society, we hope to co-create new value through the success of the series.”

“Eneos’ philosophy is to contribute to the development of society and the creation of a vibrant future through creation and innovation in energy, resources, and materials. Through our partnership with Eneos, Super Taikyu will contribute not only to the motorsports world and the automotive society, but also to achieve Eneos’ goal of contributing to the development of society and future life.”

Established in 1991, the Eneos Super Taikyu Series powered by Hankook is Japan’s top pro-am endurance racing series, featuring cars from multiple production-based categories. In 2021, the series introduced a new class, ST-Q, which has given a platform for manufacturer-developed vehicles showcasing innovative technology.

The Toyota Corolla Sport H2 Concept, a car with a hydrogen-powered combustion engine, and the Mazda2 Bio Concept, which is powered by next-generation biodiesel fuel, first raced in 2021. They will be joined in 2022 by the new Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ CNF Concepts, which run on biomass-derived synthetic fuel.

“In line with one of the key areas of Eneos Group’s Code of Conduct, “contribute to the development of civil society,” we will continue to promote motor sports and the realization of a next-generation mobility society,” the company said in their press release. “We will continue to actively promote initiatives that will contribute to the development of the company.”

Eneos will place their logo on the windshield of all of Super Taikyu’s race cars, and will support the operation of all seven rounds of the 2022 season – which begins on 20 March at Suzuka Circuit.
