1995 Daytona 24 Hours winner Jürgen Lässig passed away on 17 February at 78 years old.
Lässig competed 16 times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, including 15 consecutive appearances from 1983-97 with a best finish of second overall in 1987 in a Porsche 962.
In 1995, he took his biggest win, victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona together with Giovanni Lavaggi, Marco Werner and Christophe Bouchut in a Kremer Racing K8 (pictured top).
There were other big race wins too in a career that stretched back to the early 1970s, including the 1981 Monza 1000 km in a Porsche 935.
