Tander Joins Bathurst 12 Hour TV Team

THE broadcast line-up that will bring 18 hours of live coverage from the 2022 LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour has been confirmed.

Four-time Repco Bathurst 1000 winner and 12-hour regular Garth Tander will join the broadcast team for the 2022 LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour. Coverage will also be streamed around the world via key streaming providers, including SRO’s GT World You Tube channel.

Network 7 identity Mark Beretta and Chad Neylon will present the coverage, and will both be joined in pit lane throughout the race by experienced reporter, Briony Ingerson.

Richard Craill, who has called every 12-hour since it’s 2007 return, and experienced and versatile race caller Matt Naulty will join Tander in the commentary box.

Tander has five LIQUI MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour starts to his credit, all of them with Audi Sport Customer Racing Australia.

He finished sixth in 2017 and seventh in 2016 and 2018 with the team, and has multiple wins in GT World Challenge Australia events to his credit alongside the 12-hour campaigns.

Tander also won the famous Bathurst 24-Hour race in 2002, adding to his four victories in the iconic Repco Bathurst 1000, and is part of the reigning GT World Challenge Australia championship winning squad.

Mark Beretta: “I love the 12-Hour, it’s a highlight of every motorsport season,” Beretta said.

“The 5:15am start time this year is particularly exciting, that first 90 minute of night time racing is going to be incredibly spectacular. It’s lucky I’m good with early morning starts!

“Pit lane is always a melting pot of the best overseas and local driving talent and I’m looking forward to seeing that again this year.

“The 12 Hour brings the best brands in the world to Mount Panorama, the best track in the world.

“There’s no other race where you get 13 hours of continuous, non-stop motorsport all day, there’s just nothing like it and for all motorsport fans it’s fantastic. I can’t wait.”

Garth Tander: “I’ve raced in the 12-Hour for the last five years and even though we haven’t been able to deliver the kind of result we would expect, it’s always an enjoyable race,” Tander said.

“I’m looking forward to jumping into the commentary box this year and help tell the stories as the race unfolds, and give some of the insight I’ve learned from the last five years.

“It’s a competitive field and I’m looking forward to seeing how the race plays out this year.”
