Cool Racing Set To Race ORECA 07 Chassis #100 At Le Mans

ORECA have delivered ORECA 07 chassis #100 to Cool Racing, this will be the car utilised by the Swiss team for the 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans for their #37 entry, crewed by Yifei Ye, Ricky Taylor and Nicklas Krütten.

The car is believed to be the 99th built (there is no chassis #13!) with the total including includes the chassis built for the IMSA DPi programme for the Acura ARX 05 (8 chassis) and a number (believed to be 9) of upgraded 05 chassis that started the current Gibson-powered era in 2017. The total does not though include the ‘sister’ LMP1 Rebellion / Alpine chassis.

The number is by far the biggest production run of such a high performing sports prototype in the modern era, comfortably exceeding the 91 Porsche 962 chassis built for competition in the Group C era.

At present the ORECA production number is believed only to have been beaten by the previous generation Ligier JS P3, 115 chassis built, in ACO rules modern prototype history.

The car is set to join the ORECA collection in their new factory showroom after its racing career.
