Singha Racing Team TP12, a Thai team, supported by Earl Bamber Motorsport, will enter a Porsche 911 GT3R for the Thai duo composed of Piti Todd Bhirombhakdi (42) and Tanart Sathienthirakul (29) in the International GT Open weekend at Spa Francorchamps this weekend.
Both drivers have extensive GT experience and have also raced in Europe at the beginning of their careers. Piti, and the team, are the reigning Thailand Super Series Champions, while Tanart knows well the GT-Sport promoted weekends having contested the Euroformula Open in 2014-16.
The Thai outfit is on a European tour that started with the Paul Ricard 1000 km and will continue with the 24 Hours of Spa.
Piti Todd Bhirombhakdi commented: “I am looking forward to representing my team, Singha Racing Team TP12, with EBM on an international platform. I have not raced at Spa for several years and I am eager to get back out on track and refresh my skills, also ahead of the 24 Hours of Spa next month.”
Co-driver Tanart Sathienthirakul added: “The last time with a GT Sport series was back in my formula days. It’s good to be back in the same series but with GT this time. This is a really good opportunity for me and Piti to prepare ourselves for the upcoming Spa 24 Hours.”
The most successful Thai contender in the GT Open so far is Pasin Lathouras, who was a Pro-Am runner-up in 2015 and collected 3 overall and 4 class wins in his two seasons in the series.
