CoTA Returns, NOLA To Kick Off 2023 SRO America Calendar

Seven meetings for GT World Challenge America and GT4 America; two additional rounds for GT America sprint series

SRO Motorsports Group America’s 2023 calendar has been unveiled today, featuring seven full-scale race meetings headlined by the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS championship.

GT World Challenge America will also be accompanied by the Pirelli GT4 America series, the multi-class GT America powered by AWS sprint series, and the TC America touring car championship.

Next year, The Circuit of the Americas (Austin, Texas) returns to the schedule after a year’s absence, back by popular demand as the third meeting of the year on 5-7 May.

The 2023 season will begin at NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans, Louisiana, on 24-26 February. NOLA made its SRO debut in 2022, and its first full-scale professional race meeting in seven years was embraced by the local community.

Sonoma Raceway in California, previously the season-opening venue, will host the second meeting on 30 March – April 2, followed by the return trip to CoTA in May. VIRginia International Raceway hosts the following race meeting on 16-18 June, one week after the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

After a two-month break, Road America (Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin) follows on 25-27 August, followed by the penultimate rounds at Sebring International Raceway in Florida on 22-24 September, and the season finale at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on 5-7 October, headlined by the 2023 edition of the Indianapolis 8 Hour race.

The announcement comes a week after SRO America held their race meeting at Watkins Glen International in New York, a venue which will not return for the 2023 season.

Also missing from the calendar is Ozarks International Raceway in Missouri, which planned to host a round in 2022 – but was replaced by the aforementioned NOLA Motorsports Park.

GT America will also have two additional race meetings supporting events on the 2023 IndyCar Series calendar. They are the St. Petersburg Grand Prix on 3-5 March, and the Music City Grand Prix in Nashville, Tennessee, on 4-6 August.
