TDS Racing Set To Expand IMSA LMP2 Effort

TDS Racing are on track to expand their current single car LMP2 programme in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship in 2023.

The team currently operates the Racing Team Nederland effort in the United States but with or without that programme continuing the team look set to expand to a potential two-car effort with what a team source described as “A very encouraging level of interest, in particular from gentleman drivers.”

With the FIA WEC removing the LMP2 Pro-Am class from their 2023 plans and a number of well-established drivers having to look again at racing options, several are known to be looking carefully at the IMSA package, DSC sources confirming that two current LMP2 Bronze-ranked drivers are close to finalising programmes with TDS in North America, neither are 2022 full-season customer drivers for the team.

DSC is also aware of another European team who are closing in on a potential full-season IMSA LMP2 programme for 2023 with at least one Oreca 07 and yet another with plans for selected races.
