Iron Lynx & Proton Competition Set To Join Forces In 2023?

Ahead of switch for Italian team to Lamborghini

Iron Lynx look set to collaborate with Proton Competition for the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship and European Le Mans Series as a transition between their current Ferrari GTE programmes and the GT3 era in ACO rules racing in 2024.

Multiple paddock sources have confirmed that the Italian and German teams are set to field two GTE Am Porsches in the 2023 FIA WEC and a single car in the ELMS.

The WEC cars are expected to be direct replacements for the current Ferrari GTE entries for Claudio Schiavoni, and the Iron Dames, all-female crewed effort.

The Iron Dames (who will require a revised driver squad in the wake of the 2023 FIA driver rankings) will again double up in the ELMS with a single Iron Lynx/ Proton Porsche.

A senior source at Iron Lynx was unwilling to confirm that a 2023 programme had been agreed.

The likely collaboration with Proton is understood to be for a single ELMS & WEC season with Iron Lynx widely expected to transition to as-yet undefined GT programmes with the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2 for future GT3 programmes..

Those programmes are set to race from 2024 alongside the expected Iron Lynx/ Prema-operated Lamborghini LMDh HyperCar programme in the FIA WEC, and, most likely, the IMSA Enduro programme with a single Lamborghini GTP car, the IMSA programme reported to be set to be operated by the same team.
