All three Cadillacs will see action at the hands of every currently rostered driver for the programs both of Cadillac Racing (Ganassi) and Action Express though new father Pipo Derani will be on-site just a little later than initially planned.
Action Express driver Jack Aitken was suitably impressed with his first sight of the Daytona International Speedway on arrival yesterday evening, “I arrived in Daytona and saw the size of the stands, and then realised two minutes later down the road that I was still passing them!”
The three Cadillacs are all in the marque’s current testing livery.
Porsche have six drivers here for the two Penske-run cars with Dane Cameron, Matt Campbell, Michael Christensen Matthew Jaminet, Felipe Nasr and Nick Tandy sharing the #7 and #963 numbered 963s.
All seven currently rostered drivers for BMW Team RLL are here too as are the full roster of Acura drivers for both MSR and WTR.
In LMP2, Ben Keating arrives tomorrow and will complete the four-man crew at PR1 Mathiesen, all of whom are set to drive with only Alex Quinn a Daytona rookie alongside Paul-Loup Chatin, Dylan Murry and Ben Keating.
IMSA founder Jim France was amongst the notable figures in the paddock today, taking time to stop and talk to many of the major players.
Also in evidence around the Porsche Penske team pit boxes were several members of the JDC Motorsports crew, the team awaiting confirmation of the delivery schedule of their IMSA-bound Porsche 963.
The two day test from tomorrow includes a total of 19 hours of available track time with the following sessions:
Tuesday:
10am – Noon
1pm – 5pm
6pm – 9pm
Wednesday
9am – Noon
1pm – 5pm
6pm – 9pm
No official timing of the test will be published but DSC will be on site throughout.
