All the new sportscars set to be revealed or race in 2023
Here are 23 cars that we’ll see for the first time – in one way or another – in 2023, Hypercars, GTP, GT4, GT3, GT2 cars – and a NASCAR!
2023: Acura ARX 06 – Race debut at Rolex 24 in January in IMSA’s new GTP class
2023: BMW M V8 Hybrid – Race debut at Rolex 24 in January in IMSA’s new GTP class
2023: BMW M4 GT4 – Customer Debut at Dubai 24H with multiple teams set to contest multiple Championships in 2023.
2023: Cadillac V-LMDH – Race debut at Rolex 24 in January in IMSA’s new GTP class – will compete in both IMSA and FIA WEC In 2023
2023: Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 – The Garage 56 entry for the 2023 Le Mans 24 Hours that brings NASCAR back to Le mans for the first time since 1976 – Widely expected to be revealed as having a hybridised drivetrain, there are surprises to come from this effort!
2024: Corvette Z06 GT3 – A 2024 debut is slated for this, the first ever factory produced Corvette designed for customer competition – The development car is already testing, expect more of that, and the potential for the odd development race outing in 2023
2023: Ferrari 296 GT3 – a smash hit sales success for Ferrari, the successor to the all-conquering 488 GTE and GT3 makes its race debut at the Rolex 24
2023: Ferrari 499P – Ferrari’s first factory-entered top class sports prototype in 50 years – debuts at Sebring 1000 Miles in March
2024: Ford Mustang GT3 – Set for a launch at Super Sebring in 2023 and an official race debut at the 2024 Rolex 24 Hours, the Multimatic-developed car should be seen out testing, and likely in some test races, in 2023
2023: Ford Mustang GT4 – The first of the new generation Mustangs into competition the GT4 version of the car will begin customer sales in 2023
2023: Isotta Fraschini Tipo C – Italian team looking to enter the FIA WEC from Spa in 2023 with their LMH rules Hypercar – It’s an ambitious plan – Much depends on how persuasive their application for a World Championship entry will be!
2023: Lamborghini Huracan EVO 2 – Latest evolution of the successful Huracan platform – new build cars sold out for 2023 – debuts at Rolex 24 Hours in customer hands
2024: Lamborghini LMDH – Due for a competitive debut in both the FIA WEC and in the IMSA enduros in 2024, the Ligier-based Lamborghini should be seen testing in the second half of 2023
2023: Lotus Emira GT4 – There’s a dearth of information from Lotus on progress with the programme to bring the pretty little Emira GT4 to racing, late 2022 customer deliveries appear not to have happened and we’ll keep an eye on progress towards a race debut in 2023.
2023: Mercedes AMG GT2 – After teasing a potential involvement in GT2 with the limited edition ‘Track Edition’, Mercedes AMG have now confirmed a GT2 version of their AMG GT model – Customer deliveries will begin in 2023.
2023: Maserati MC20 GT2 – Set for first customer deliveries in 2023, the GT2 version of Maserati’s MC20 supercar is part of the brand’s revival strategy via motorsport
2023: McLaren Artura GT4 – A successor to the 570S GT4 that sold in large numbers, the new Artura is set to run in both GT4 and ‘Trophy’ trims, the latter to populate the new one-make Series set to support SRO series in 2023. The GT4 is set to see competition in the British GT Championship and GT4 European Series
Nissan Z GT4: Debuted as a development car in 2023, but is set for customer sales in the coming year. Succeeds the 370Z GT4 of over a decade ago.
2023: Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) – Significant upgrade of Porsche’s GT3 platform, 61 cars sold in first year, debuts in customer hands at Rolex 24 Hours
2023: Porsche 963 – Race debut at Rolex 24 in January in IMSA’s new GTP class – will compete in both IMSA and FIA WEC In 2023
2023: Toyota Supra GT4 EVO – Available for 2023 as a new car or upgrade kit, the Evo version of the Supra is set to debut at Daytona in the Michelin Pilot Challenge in 2023
2023: Vanwall LMH – The Vanwall squad are waiting anxiously to see whether the FIA WEC selection committee are convinced that they are eligible for the 2023 World Championship – Despite plenty of testing it will come down to the question of whether they can assure the Championship organisers that they a: have a legitimate right to the Vanwall name and b- that they are a road car manufacturer
2024: Alpine LMH – Oreca-chassised and bound for the FIA WEC in 2024, the Alpine LMDH will be testing by the summer of 2023
