The 9 car LMP3 grid was next up for a 15-minute qualifying session with drops of rain beginning to fall halfway through the session.
By then Cameron Shields had gone fastest in the #38 Performance Tech Ligier, first into the 1:43s.
His time though was eclipsed by first Guilherme de Olivier in the #43 MRS GT Ligier and then Nico Pino in the #33 Sean Creech Ligier, the rain holding off.
Under 5 minutes left and Dakota Dickerson popped into the top spot briefly before a mighty lap from Pino, 1:43.197, Cameron Shields into second moments later before Dakota Dickerson grabbed back second in the last 2 minutes.
A pair of mishaps for a pair of Duqueines in the fine 90 seconds would see the #17 of Anthony Mantilla off the circuit at the West Horseshoe and Luca Mars spinning at the Bus Stop after clattering the kerbs at the entry.
Both would recover though to complete the session. Despite both AWA Duqueines finishing behind the GTD pole-sitter they will start ahead of the GTD field next weekend per IMSA Sporting Regulations.
The session would finish with the #33 Sean Creech Motorsport Ligier on top heading a rout for the Ligier marque, the top five places on the grid occupied by the five Ligiers.
