Laurents Hörr Joins IDEC Sport For 2023 ELMS

IDEC Sport have announced their 2023 racing plans with a car apiece in the LMP2 class of the European Le Mans Series and the LMP3 class of the Michelin Le Mans Cup.

The team has made a significant change in their LMP2 line-up with the well-proven pairing of Paul-Loup Chatin and Paul Lafargue joined for the full season by Laurents Hörr.

The German driver makes his full-season debut in LMP2 after racing for DKR Engineering at Le Mans in 2022.

he graduates LMP2 after significant success in LMP3 including back-to-back Michelin Le Mans Cup in 2019 and 2020.

Laurents Hörr: “After doing Le Mans last year in an LMP2 entered in Pro/AM with a solid performance, I really want to find myself behind the wheel of a competitive car for the whole season. I have known Nico (Minassian) for several years and we get along very well. I’m just happy to have this opportunity. I’m not going to put pressure on myself and make the most of the season. I can’t wait to meet the whole team.

“It’s going to be great to be in the top class in a top class team that has had real success. To be able to race in a car that the team understand and have turned into a winner is a dream for me.”

The team have just moved into new premises in Signes, very close to the Paul Richard circuit where their 2023 programmes will be based.

The facility includes 3500m2 of workshop, offices and storage, as well as a sports hall and a simulator.

Nicolas Minassian, IDEC SPORT team principal: “It’s a new impetus for the team. We benefit from superb premises made by the IDEC GROUP. We really took the time to design them to answer all the problems of a racing team. It’s motivating for everyone. It shows IDEC SPORT’s desire to continue to grow and become stronger. We have much more space and right next to Paul Ricard. Logistically it is also a good thing since it is a strategic location and the entire activity area is developed around motorsport. It’s a big project and it’s still in development but everything has been well organized. I feel good vibes in these new workshops. The infrastructure is magnificent”

In addition the team have signed Nicolas Drouelle as Race engineer, the Frenchman with recent experience with both Cool Racing and Sainteloc.

For the Michelin Le Mans Cup, Patrice Lafargue and Dino Lunardi will continue together in the team’s Ligier JSP320 #17 after this great year 2022. “We want to continue this momentum and finish regularly in the top 10,” said Minassian.
