The second fastest laps from qualifying for the Asian Le Mans Series 4 Hours of Dubai are in, and it’s a double pole position for the #43 Inter Europol Competition Oreca LMP2 07 of Charles Crews, with young Indy NXT prospects Nolan Siegel and Christian Bogle.
Crews’ time of 1’49.329 was almost half a second quicker than the second-best time of Salih Yoluc in the #3 DKR Engineering Oreca (with Charlie Eastwood and Ayhancan Guven), so, the front row for both races in Dubai will be the same.
Behind them on the second row, the #23 United Autosports Oreca of Yasser Shahin (with Garnet Patterson and Oliver Jarvis) will start ahead of the #24 Nielsen Racing Oreca of Rodrigo Sales (with Ben Hanley and Mathias Beche) tomorrow afternoon, swapping places from today’s grid.
Likewise, the second-quickest time of Torsten Kratz was enough to put he and co-drivers Leonard Weiss and Nico Varrone on LMP3 pole tomorrow in the #11 WTR by Rinaldi Racing Duquiene D08. And the #1 CD Sport Ligier JS P320 of Nick Adcock (with Michael Jensen and Valdemar Eriksen) will also start second in Race 2.
Moving up to third on the grid is the #73 Inter Europol Ligier of Alexander Bukhantsov, who had a spin during the session but still had times good enough for fourth in Race 1 and third in Race 2 with co-drivers John Corbett and James Winslow.
And in GT, Thomas Merrill secured yet another brace of poles for the #34 Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 and co-drivers Chandler Hull and Nick Catsburg.
The #7 Haupt Racing Team Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Martin Konrad (with Al Faisal al Zubair and Luca Stolz) will start second, making it three identical front rows for both races at Dubai Autodrome.
Moving up to third on the grid for Race 2 is the #10 GetSpeed Mercedes of Florian Scholze (with Raffaele Marciello and Fabian Schiller).
