Mercedes-AMG has revealed all but one of its race liveries for the 51st running of the Nürburgring 24 Hours next weekend.
Gunning for the brand’s third overall win in the N24 are six Mercedes-AMG GT3s in SP9. Among the set of liveries revealed today is a comic book-style design for the #4 Mercedes-AMG Team Bilstein entry, which can be seen below.
The #3 Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed example is also set to feature a striking colour scheme, though its ‘Green Hell’ design has not yet been shown off. Instead, it will be presented to the public for the first time during the event.
Outside of SP9, there are three other AMGs on the list. Two of them are Mercedes-AMG GT2s, making their 24-hour race debut in SPX with Team HRT and Team Schnitzelalm.
The final AMG is a GT4 in the SP10 class, which is also being run by Haupt Racing Team.
“The 24-hour race at the Nordschleife is one of the world’s toughest races in GT competition and for Mercedes-AMG, it is one of the most important events on the racing calendar,” said Christoph Sagemüller, head of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport.
“After our historical victory in 2016, we had a hard time in the years that followed, but most recently, we managed to make it onto the podium again. Nevertheless, we are racing to win here and to bring back the title to Affalterbach after a drought of multiple years.
“Therefore, the goal is clear. I am equally full of expectation for the maiden 24-hour race participation of our new Mercedes-AMG GT2 that has to prove itself for the first time in an endurance race at the legendary Nordschleife as part of the test programme. As a result, I am looking forward to the weekend and also to the unique atmosphere in the “Green Hell”!”
