Farano To Miss Le Mans, Thomas To Drive Tower ORECA

Last-minute driver change for the Tower Motorsports team

Canadian driver John Farano has decided against competing in this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours as a “precautionary measure” following his accident in last month’s IMSA race at Laguna Seca.

The Tower Motorsports team, run by TDS, has released a statement today, explaining that while Farano is “in good health”, he has made the tough decision to miss the race because it is “in the best interest of the team and the programme”.

TDS Racing driver Steven Thomas will step in for the team at the centenary edition of the 24 Hours and compete alongside Ricky Taylor and Rene Rast in Farano’s absence aboard the #13 ORECA.

Farano meanwhile, will be in “close contact” with the team all week, as it aims to score a strong result in the huge LMP2 field.
