Porsche customer team Pure Rxcing enjoyed a perfect start to Spa 24 Hours race week by topping the Bronze Test this afteroon, with a late 2:17.871 flyer from Aliaksandr Malykhin who completed 46 laps of the Belgian circuit in the session.
All 32 cars that were eligible took part in the three-hour session, which featured cars from the Bronze and Pro/Am categories.
The top three in the classification was completed by two cars from different makes. The #3 GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG GT3 was just three-tenths off with a time second in the classification, while the #38 Pro/Am-entered ST Racing with Rinaldi Ferrari 488 GT3 completed the top three.
The Ferrari was the quickest of the 12 cars from Pro/Am that turned laps. Sun Energy 1 Racing’s Mercedes AMG came closest to the #38 in the class, with a 2:19.043 to go fifth fastest overall, a tenth off the #20 Huber Motorsports Porsche from the Bronze field that slotted in fourth.
During the session there were three short red flags, caused by incidents for the #78 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini, #89 Akkodis ASP Mercedes-AMG and the #62 Team Parker Racing Porsche.
The track action will continue on Thursday with Practice 1 at 11:20am local time.
Tomorrow attention shifts away from the circuit, with the annual parade set to take place at 18:00. The festivities include a road run from the circuit to the Spa city centre for the 70 cars entered in the 24 Hours and an autograph session for the fans.
