2024 British GT Finale Moved To Brands Hatch

Donington and Brands swap calendar slots

Brands Hatch has been named as the venue for the final round of the 2024 British GT season, after swapping dates with Donington Park.

The change means that the round at Donington Park has been moved to the early September date originally scheduled for the Kent-based circuit. The series finale at Brands will then take place three weeks later on September 28/29.

The SRO Motorsports Group issued British GT’s provisional calendar earlier this month at its annual Spa 24 Hours press conference without a firm slot for its title showdown. Donington was expected to host the event, as it has in recent years, but congestion within the UK’s domestic and SRO’s international schedules has subsequently made that impossible.

Excluding 2020’s pandemic-affected campaign, next season will be the first since 2011 that a ‘Donington Decider’ hasn’t taken place.

Brands, meanwhile, last staged the season finale two years earlier.

Donington might have lost its Decider but the circuit will still play host to two British GT events next year, as it will host the championship’s pre-season media day on March 12.

The rest of the calendar and race format remains unchanged from the provisional schedule revealed on July 1.

Revised calendar

12 March – Media Day, Donington Park
30 March + 1 April – Oulton Park (2x 1-hour)
27-28 April – Silverstone GP (1x 3-hour)
25-26 May – Donington Park (1x 3-hour)
22-23 June – SRO Speedweek, Spa (1x 2-hour)
13-14 July – Snetterton (2x 1-hour)
7-8 September – Donington Park (1x 2-hour)
28-29 September – Brands Hatch (1x 2-hour)
