GetSpeed and D’station Racing have become the first teams to confirm entries posted for the 2023/ 2024 Asian Le Mans Series.
D’station Racing, based just outside the Fuji Speedway, have been regular GT class contenders in the Series since 2019/20 in their Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 scoring a victory at the 4 Hours of Shanghai in their inaugural season. The following year the team made the step up to the FIA World Endurance Championship, where they continue to compete on the global stage.
The team has also announced plans to add Sepang to its Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS campaign after contesting the series’ four Japanese events. The round will be held at the end of September at the Sepang International Circuit – the same location as the opening round of the 2023 / 2024 Asian Le Mans Series.
Tomonobu Fujii, Team Managing Director: “I am honoured to announce our entry to the Asian Le Mans Series for the 2023-2024 season. The addition of the race in Sepang will be a fantastic opportunity for many teams in Asia and I expect the competitive European teams will continue their entries as they have done the last three seasons, so I am excited to start the season. With the ACO and SRO collaborating for the upcoming season, we have decided to join the final round of the GT World Challenge Asia at the end of September in Sepang and look forward to starting the Asian Le Mans Series in December. Thanks to the logistical planning by the ACO and SRO, we are excited for more races in their championships with Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3.”
Returning for a second year, Nürburgring based team, GetSpeed have confirmed a two-car Mercedes AMG GT3 entry. Their debut season saw the team finish in 3rd place in the hotly contested class.
Adam Osieka, CEO GetSpeed: “After our premiere participation this year, the Asian Le Mans Series is on our schedule again this winter. With Sepang, we are also looking forward to a new challenge and track which will help us prepare for 2024. Due to the great customer interest, we are looking forward to participating in the Series again with two Mercedes-AMG GT3s.”
GetSpeed and D’station Racing will not only be fighting for championship glory, but there will also be an invitation to the 2024 Le Mans 24 Hour awarded to the class winner.
The Asian Le Mans Series will kick off at the start of December with the return of the Series to Malaysia and the Sepang International Circuit before moving on to the UAE and the Dubai Autodrome and the Yas Marina Circuit.
