Connecticut-based circuit Lime Rock Park is in discussions with IMSA to ensure it returns to its schedule for the 2025 season and beyond, after being left off the list of venues for 2024 due to “unavoidable scheduling conflicts”.
In the wake of the IMSA 2024 calendar release earlier today, which revealed that none of its series would travel to Lime Rock, the circuit’s CEO revealed that work is ongoing behind the scenes to work on a solution for the future.
“After a record-breaking (IMSA GTD-only) FCP Euro Northeast Grand Prix presented by Liqui Moly last month, it is unfortunate that IMSA will not be returning to Lime Rock Park until the 2025 season,” said Lime Rock Park president and CEO Dicky Riegel.
“However Lime Rock Park has a vibrant partnership as well as a decades-long history with IMSA and we understand the myriad challenges around scheduling for this international championship. Lime Rock Park recognizes the fervent support and passion of our fans for the IMSA content and we look forward to IMSA’s return in 2025 and beyond.
“We will continue to host a wide range of outstanding spectator events in 2024 and look forward to announcing the schedule soon.”
Next year IMSA’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will still visit 12 circuits, with a street race at Detroit added in place of the Lime Rock event.
