Your daily dose of sportscar and GT racing news from around the world...

Charles Eyston: 1954-2023

Charles Eyston may not be a name known to many readers here, but the company he owned for much of the latter part of his career will be.

Charles Eyston

“Moley” was the proprietor of Mole Valley Motors, long-time sponsors of Rollcentre Racing from the TVR Tuscan Challenge days all the way through to LMP1.

The level of loyalty both financially and, just as importantly, as a family friend to the Short family, saw Mole Valley’s signature green feature on every car filled by the Cambridgeshire-based team.

After a cancer diagnosis earlier this year, Charles had been fighting valiantly but on Saturday lost the final battle.

Our sincerest condolences to his family, Martin And Michelle Short and their family, and all that knew this lovely man.

Pascal Saivet: 1967-2023

News reached us over the weekend via our friend and colleague Laurent Mercier of the passing of another press-room comrade.

Pascal Saivet

French photographer Pascal Saivet had battled against illness bravely for some time but succumbed finally last week at the oh-so-too-young age of 56. Pascal was a long-time member of the travelling media fraternity for endurance racing and was a co-founder of the MPS agency that provided images for a range of online and print outlets.

To his family and friends, we send our profound condolences.
