A brief press release issued today from D’station Racing confirms the Japanese privateer team’s intention to return to the Autobacs SUPER GT Series in 2024.
Founded in 2013 by team owner Satoshi Hoshino, D’station Racing raced in the GT300 class of SUPER GT from 2017 to 2020, backed by customer racing partnerships with Porsche (2017-18) and Aston Martin (2019-20).
After forming a joint entry with Pacific Racing Team for the 2020 SUPER GT season, D’station left the series to pursue a new challenge in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, backed by Aston Martin Racing and British team TF Sport.
Along with its ongoing efforts at Le Mans, the WEC, and the ACO-sanctioned Asian Le Mans Series, D’station Racing has also continued Pro-Am domestic racing efforts in GT World Challenge Asia and the Eneos Super Taikyu Series in recent years.
The brief statement reads: “D’station Racing is excited to announce its long-term plan to participate in the SUPER GT Series from 2024. The car manufacturer, tyre supplier, drivers, and other team details will be announced soon. Thank you for your ongoing support.”
With no details confirmed, it is also unknown how this announcement will impact D’station Racing’s plans to stay in the WEC as part of the new LMGT3 category. D’station has long been favoured to represent Aston Martin in the category next year, likely with an Evo version of the existing Vantage AMR GT3.
