Reigning Gulf 12 Hours champion AF Corse will return to the Middle East’s premier GT endurance race in December with a fleet of Ferrari GT3 machinery.
The Italian team will compete with one ProAm line-up and three Am driver crews.
Le Mans 24 Hours class winner Alessio Rovera will lead the #25 crew in a Ferrari 296 GT3, alongside Alessandro Cozzi, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Marco Pulcini in an all-Italian Pro-Am entry.
French driver Lilou Wadoux, who recently tested a Ferrari 499P Hypercar and became the first female driver to win her class in a WEC race earlier this year, will race at Yas Marina Circuit in the #20 Ferrari 296 GT3 car alongside Italian Christian Colombo, Indian driver David Tjiptobiantoro and Stéphane Lemmeret, from Belgium.
A Ferrari 488 GT3 sporting number 51 will also be in attendance. It will be driven by rising Italian star Nicola Marinangeli, Greek ELMS regular Kriton Lendoudis and 2019 podium finisher Christoph Ulrich, who became the final driver to set a competitive time in a GTE Ferrari in the Bahrain Rookie Test.
AF Corse’s three-car Am class challenge is completed by a four-driver crew in the #61 Ferrari 296 GT3. The American pair of Jean Claude Saada and Conrad Grunewald join Belgium’s Laurent de Meeus and Portugal’s Miguel Ramos.
Alongside AF Corse, the grid for the 2023 Gulf 12 Hours will feature winners from 10 of the race’s 12 editions so far.
Fellow four-time champion Kessel Racing, winners from 2014 to 2018, add to the Ferrari contingent and join 2 Seas Motorsport, the Mercedes AMG team from nearby Bahrain which won the race in 2021 and January 2022.
