Iron Lynx announced today that Romain Grosjean and Matteo Cairoli will join the team’s lineup in the #60 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 for the upcoming Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona.
Both drivers will race alongside Iron Lynx owner/driver Claudio Schiavoni and Matteo Cressoni at Daytona, before moving on to drive the new Lamborghini SC63 LMDh prototype beginning in March at the 12 Hours of Sebring.
Daytona will also mark Cairoli’s first appearance as a Lamborghini works driver, a move that was announced yesterday by the Italian manufacturer.
“We are delighted to welcome Romain and Matteo to the #60 car for the 24 Hours of Daytona,” said Andrea Piccini, Team Principal and CEO of Iron Lynx. “Romain drove with us in car #63 last year and raced well; Matteo is well known at Iron Lynx as we shared an ELMS season but will race together for the first time with Lamborghini, so we’re really looking forward to seeing him driving at Daytona. They will make a very strong addition to the line-up of car #60.”
Grosjean made his first start in the Rolex 24 last year, finishing fourth in class aboard Iron Lynx’s GTD Pro entry. He’ll once again split time between his commitments with Lamborghini, and his fourth IndyCar Series campaign with new team Juncos Hollinger Racing.
Cairoli has made four previous appearances at Daytona with a best finish of eighth in GTD Pro in 2022.
Iron Lynx’s GTD Pro entry for Daytona will feature fellow Lamborghini prototype drivers Mirko Bortolotti and Andrea Caldarelli, alongside Jordan Pepper and Franck Perera. Caldarelli will drive alongside Cairoli and Grosjean in the remaining Michelin Endurance Cup rounds, while Bortolotti will head up Lamborghini and Iron Lynx’s efforts in the FIA World Endurance Championship alongside Edoardo Mortara and Daniil Kvyat.
Iron Dames has yet to name the fourth driver who will share driving duties in the pink #83 alongside Michelle Gatting, Rahel Frey, and Sarah Bovy.
