GTE Year By Year Gallery: 2014

GTLM arrives and SRT thrives...

2014 saw a major transition for the class as the merger between the American Le Mans Series and Grand-Am kicked in, with the new GTLM class as part of the package of the new Tudor United SportsCar Championship accommodating GTE class machinery.

The first year saw the Championship wins taken by the SRT Viper GTSR and Kuno Wittmer, the Canadian taking the title solo after the team had opted to hedge its bets by mixing and matching driver crews at the final round.

In ACO racing, AF Corse’s #51 Ferrari 458 took the GTE Pro win at Le Mans and went on to take the class title (not at this point a World Championship) with Gianmaria Bruni and Toni Vilander. In GTE Am the same double was scored by the All-Danish Aston Martin duo of Kristian Poulsen and David Heinemeier Hansson.

Russian squad SMP Racing took the ELMS title with its Ferrari 458.
