Porsche customer team Rutronik Racing has announced that it will compete in the World Challenge Europe Endurance and Sprint Cup next year, expanding on its Endurance Cup-focused 2023 campaign.
For 2024, Rutronik has also named Klaus Graf, the team’s former sporting director, as its team boss. Graf has been part of the team since 2022 and oversaw the it’s transition to Porsche. He takes over from Fabian Plentz, who has “decided to give up this position due to new tasks within Rutronik”.
“I would like to thank Fabian Plentz for his work as team boss and his trust in me to take on this role and lead the team’s fortunes,” Graf said.
“He built the team and ultimately prepared it for further tasks. We are very satisfied with the expansion of our involvement in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS. The series offers us an ideal platform across Europe to present our partners and sponsors.
“The synergies created by competing in both series, which will have an impact on both the sporting and business development of the team, are beyond doubt.”
Plentz will continue to be involved with the team going forward however, assisting with strategic and business decisions.
“It was an intensive and very successful time, for which I would first like to thank everyone involved, especially our employees,” he said.
“For me, it is the right time to hand over operational control and I am sure that we have found the right person for this in Klaus. I’m looking forward to further successes, which I can now look at from a new perspective.”
The team will reveal the drivers for its 2024 programme in due course.
