Autopolis SUPER GT Round Gets New Date In Revised 2024 Calendar

Officially ratified by FIA and JAF Tuesday

The FIA and JAF (Japan Automobile Federation) have officially ratified the 2024 Autobacs SUPER GT Series calendar, confirming one change of dates.

SUPER GT’s annual visit to Autopolis in the Kyushu region, originally scheduled for 5-6 October, has been moved back two weeks to 19-20 October – a change which was announced by the series in October, now made official by the FIA and JAF today. All other race dates remain unchanged.

Autopolis staged a 450-kilometre ‘semi endurance’ round for the first time this past season. It has been a near-permanent fixture of the series since it first held a championship round in 2003.

The change of dates alleviates a clash with the MotoGP Japanese Grand Prix at Mobility Resort Motegi which remains in its traditional October calendar slot.

Pre-season testing begins with a private GT500 Manufacturers’ Test at Petronas Sepang International Circuit on 23-27 January. It will mark the first time that GT500 cars will drive around the Malaysian circuit since the initial onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

SUPER GT’s two official pre-season tests remain at Okayama International Circuit on 16-17 March and at Fuji Speedway the following weekend on 23-24 March.
