Lamborghini Head of Motorsport Giorgio Sanna has parted ways from the company with immediate effect.
Sanna has been in the position since 2015 and has led the growth of Lamborghini Squadra Corse in the sportscar racing community worldwide. That growth was anchored by the sustained growth and success of the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 customer racing programme, and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series in North America, Europe, and Asia.
He also presided over the development of the new Lamborghini SC63 LMDh prototype, which made its world debut two weeks ago in the FIA WEC Qatar 1812km – and will make its American debut on Saturday at the 12 Hours of Sebring.
Dr. Rouven Mohr, Chief Technical Officer of Lamborghini, will take over as head of motorsport on an interim basis.
Sanna’s resignation follows that of Chris Ward, who has now become the president of Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) after being the Head of Motorsport for Lamborghini North America until October 2023.
