Trailed by DSC last season, the European Le mans Series have now confirmed that the 22 cars in their LMP2 and LMP2 Pro/Am field will receive a power boost for the 2024 season.
Enabled by the fact that LMP2 no longer features in the FIA WEC with the ‘stratification’ process to the Hypercar class now only required at Le Mans, for 2024 LMP2 will get a 40bhp power increase, from 540bhp to 580bhp in the ELMS from the 4.2 Litre V8 GK428 Gibson engine.
The cars will also be dealt a 20kg weight reduction to 930kg, and a larger fuel tank up from 69L to 75L.
For the Le Mans 24 Hours the LMP2s will race with an identical specification as in 2023.
