Two More New Maserati’s Added For 2024

In the wake of confirmation that LP Racing will field a new Maserati GT2 in the 2024 Fanatec GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli comes news of two more new Maseratis for the coming season.

TFT Racing will join the Series for the first time in 2024, fielding a new Maserati GT2 with Alexandre Leroy behind the wheel for the six events.

The TFT squad has been a front-running competitor in Porsche Carrera Cup France, most recently securing the runner-up spot in the Teams’ Championship last year.

Am rookie Leroy meanwhile was a regular name with the team last year on his way to securing third place in Carrera Cup France’s Am category, now making the jump to a new category in Fanatec GT2 for his series debut.

Fellow Series newcomers Van Der Horst Motorsport will also add a Maserati to the fray.

The all-Dutch outfit will be headed by Team Owner-Driver Gerard Van Der Horst, who will compete for honours in the Am class with fellow countryman Jeroen Van Den Heuvel in their #99 Maserati.

Van Der Horst himself has been a regular face in the one-make Lamborghini Super Trofeo series, claiming five titles including most recently in 2022 with three wins to his name with his own squad.

Now with Fanatec GT2 machinery at his disposal, the Dutchman is looking forward to the team’s latest challenge, saying: “We are looking forward to competing in GT2 with SRO this season. We are completely new to GT2 and the Maserati, but we are here to enjoy the competition, learn the car and of course, most importantly, we are joining the series to give our best performances.

“I have done many years of racing with Super Trofeo, and now we are ready for a new challenge and a new adventure. We obviously want to join and battle it out for the podium this year, so we will see what we can achieve together.”

The GT2 European Series season kicks off its six-round calendar at Circuit Paul Ricard from 5-6 April.
