Racers Edge Returns To GTWC America With New Driver Line-Up

HPD Academy alumnus Luca Mars joins IndyCar, IMSA veteran Zach Veach

Racers Edge Motorsports is returning for its sixth season in GT World Challenge America with the Acura NSX GT3, but this year, the team will feature an all-new cast of drivers.

Luca Mars and Zach Veach will drive the #93 Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 this season, competing in the Pro class.

Mars, who turned 18 earlier this month, is a graduate of the HPD (now HRC USA) Driver Academy class of 2022 and has spent the past two seasons primarily racing in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge’s GS (GT4) class. This January at Daytona, Mars drove the new Ford Mustang GT4 to its first victory in its first-ever race. In two weeks, his season debut at Sonoma Raceway will be his first race weekend in a GT3 car.

“I’m super excited to get to work with Zach Veach and the Racers Edge Motorsports team this year in SRO,” said Mars. “I’m looking forward to starting my GT3 career with this group. I know that Zach is a driver with a lot of experience and I’ve worked with the Racers Edge group before, so I know what they are capable of, and know that we will be able to push for the championship and get good results.”

Veach is a veteran of four seasons in the IndyCar Series, where, after an impressive career in the Road To Indy ladder system, he made 47 starts in the series driving for Andretti Global, Ed Carpenter Racing, and AJ Foyt Enterprises from 2017-2020. His last full season of professional racing came in the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship GTD class at Vasser Sullivan Racing. Veach scored three podiums at Mid-Ohio, Watkins Glen, and Road Atlanta.

“I’m extremely excited to be joining Racers Edge Motorsports this season in the GT World Challenge America championship,” said Veach, who’s spent the last two years as a reserve & simulator driver at Arrow McLaren IndyCar. “After spending the last couple of years working on sim development, I’m really looking forward to being back trackside and competing again with the HRC family.

“Together with Luca Mars, we’ll be fighting to bring the team their fourth championship victory!”

An ever-present team since the reformation of SRO America’s top-tier championship in 2019, Racers Edge Motorsports has won the 2019 Pro-Am, 2020 Silver class, and 2022 Pro-Am championships with three different driver combinations – and finished second in the Pro-Am standings in 2021, and in 2023, they were runners-up in the Pro championship.
