Asian Le Mans Series Reveals Six-Race 2024/25 Calendar

Three double headers confirmed, with a second Dubai race added

The 2024/25 Asian Le Mans Series calendar has been revealed this morning. It will consist of six four-hour races and three doubleheaders, at Sepang, Dubai and Yas Marina.

The ACO says the decision was taken to increase the number of races from five to six after consulting with the teams. The sixth race will be held at an existing circuit on the calendar, with a second 4-hour race added to the Dubai weekend at the beginning of February.

The list of circuits mirrors the 2023/24 season, with a visit to Sepang in December followed by a two-week stint in the UAE the following February for race meetings at the Dubai Autodrome and Yas Marina Circuit.

The two races in Malaysia will be held on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December 2024, before the visit to the UAE from February 7th to 16th.

“The Asian Le Mans Series continues to develop, attracting a larger field of competitors every year,” said Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest.

“The diversity and high calibre of entries make the series essential viewing. To underpin its development, and in full consultation with the competitors, we are delighted to announce a denser and more attractive calendar.

“This format, featuring two races per weekend, is appreciated by fans and competitors alike. We look forward to seeing you in Sepang in December for another action-packed season of this series!”

Frédéric Lequien, ALMEM and LMEM CEO added: “The Asian Le Mans Series continues to grow, with over 40 cars taking part last season. After consulting with the teams, a sixth race has been added while keeping the three-event format that proved to be popular with the teams and fans alike.

“The calendar also reflects the desire to ensure there is no clash with the Rolex 24 at Daytona, allowing the teams that wish to compete in both series the ability to do so. We are really looking forward to another great season of action-packed racing in the Asian Le Mans Series.”

SRO founder and CEO Stephane Ratel also made a statement with the calendar reveal. The ACO and SRO continue to work together to grow the GT market place in the region, and Ratel believes that the forthcoming Asian Le Mans Series season will attract a strong field of GT3 cars once again.

“The Asian Le Mans Series’ impressive 2023/24 season and Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia Powered by AWS’s own capacity entry are both proof of motor sport’s boom period across the continent. Stability and an attractive platform have both been key to the ACO championship’s success.

“I have no doubt that many of the GT teams and drivers who spend the summer with us will increase their programmes to include a winter in Sepang, Abu Dhabi and Dubai – just as many already do. SRO will continue to support these endeavours by providing behind-the-scenes assistance, and also avoiding clashes between events.”
