IMSA has released the entry list for the Motul Course de Monterey, which takes place 10-12 May at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
The ten full-season GTP entries will be rejoined by nine cars from GTD Pro, and a further 15 GTD entries to bring the total to 34.
On another busy week of sports car racing that also includes the WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on the other side of the Atlantic, the second driver alongside Gianmaria Bruni in the #5 Proton Competition Porsche 963 has yet to be confirmed. Mike Rockenfeller was able to stand in at Long Beach, but will now be returning to his regular role with the Ford Multimatic Motorsports team in GTD Pro.
All other line-ups remain unchanged in the class, where Porsche Penske Motorsport drivers Dane Cameron and Felipe Nasr currently lead the standings after three rounds.
Of note in GTD Pro, Harry Tincknell is entered in the #64 Ford Multimatic Mustang GT3. Pending official confirmation, it would signal Tincknell prioritising his Ford Performance factory commitments in IMSA over his current FIA WEC Hypercar drive with Proton Competition.
Vasser Sullivan Racing’s two cars have reverted to their regular classes and line-ups. Parker Thompson and Frankie Montecalvo will reunite in the GTD class #12 Lexus RC F GT3, while Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat return to the #14 Lexus in GTD, coming off a class win at the Sebring 12 Hours.
Due to WEC commitments, Heart of Racing Team has brought back Endurance Cup driver Mario Farnbacher to drive the GTD Pro #23 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 in place of Alex Riberas, and Spencer Pumpelly will make his second start in the GTD class #27.
Also in GTD, Wright Motorsports has added Laguna Seca to its slate for the season. Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer will continue to drive the #120 Porsche 911 GT3 R, in between scheduled GT World Challenge America appearances at Sebring and Circuit of the Americas.
And finally, Turner Motorsport has made no driver changes – Robby Foley and Patrick Gallagher will continue to drive the Turner BMW M4 GT3 – but the car has a new number, 557, to celebrate becoming BMW Motorsport’s most experienced racing team in history at Laguna Seca.
