The Ligier European Series moves on to Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet with new entries boosting the entry to 20 cars for the second race meeting of the season on 3 and 4 May.
JS P4:
Eleven cars, including one new team, are entered. British team Jolt Racing will participate for the first time in the Ligier European Series with the #26 JS P4 driven by Thomas Jack Lee.
With 50 points, Team Virage leads the teams’ standings, thanks to the two wins of the #1 car driven by Theo Micouris and Haydn Chance in Barcelona. Qatari Paschalis Paris Stavrakidis will join Lucas Medina in the #32.
RLR MSport’s #77 is in second place with 27 points. After finishing fourth and third in Barcelona, Ian Aguilera has his sights set on victory in France.
ANS Motorsport and its #6 JS P4 driven by Iko Segret are third with 22 points.
ASM Motorsport’s #44 Ligier JS P4 will not race at Circuit Paul Ricard. Portuguese driver André Vieira will return to Le Mans for Heat three.
JS2 R:
Nine cars will compete in the JS2 R category at Paul Ricard.
Barcelona winners, #50 from Les Deux Arbres (Antoine Lepesqueux / Noé Da Cuhna) and #18 from Pegasus Racing, will target another victory and try to score vital points in the classification. With one win each, the two teams are on equal 40 points.
After racing solo in Barcelona, Louis Stern will share the #18 JS2 R with Frenchman Paul Lanchere.
The second Pegasus JS2 R, the #29 of the French duo Julien Schell / David Caussanel, is third on 28 points.
The Les Deux Arbres and M Racing teams are each adding a second JS2 R for this round. Tomas Granzella, straight from Uruguay, and Argentina’s Gianfranco Barbara will share the #69 of M Racing. Les Deux Arbres’ additional car, the #87, will be entrusted to Sita Vanmeert, who teamed with Jacques Nicolet in the #86 in the two Barcelona races.
The action begins on Friday, 3 May, with the first free practice session at 9 am and the second at 2:05 pm, followed by two 15-minute qualifying sessions at 5:15 pm and 5:35 pm. Race 1 gets underway Saturday, 4 May, from 9 to 10 am, and Race 2 runs from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. Both races will be streamed live on the championship’s YouTube channel and Facebook page with commentary from Jonny Palmer and Graham Goodwin.
