BMW has formally presented its 2025 M4 GT4 EVO at Spa-Francorchamps this week ahead of the centenary Spa 24 Hours, following a soft launch of the car at the Nürburgring 24 Hours last month.
The new GT4 model from the fabled German brand features a suite of updates – principally focused on reliability and drivability – as it looks to build on the success and legacy of its current title and race-winning M4 GT4 model.
“The BMW M4 GT4 wrote an extraordinary success story in its first season,” said Björn Lellmann, the head of customer racing at BMW M Motorsport.
“In developing the BMW M4 GT4 EVO, we focused on what makes BMW M Motorsport stand out. We took the feedback from the field seriously and focused on the issues that were important to our customers – to make the ‘perfect’ customer racing car even better.”
The changes have been made following consultation with its current crop of customer teams.
The front splitter has been revised to improve long-term durability, and the entire attachment concept has been overhauled, making the entire front end much more maintenance-friendly. Reinforced wheel bearings on the rear axle and new front flicks also increase durability.
Beyond that, drivers now have the option to temporarily deactivate the traction control via a button on the steering wheel. This serves as another tool for drivers looking to optimise lap times. BMW says it is a feature that its customer base has frequently requested.
In terms of design, the BMW M4 GT4 EVO shares its styling with the road-going model and BMW’s flagship GT3 model. It adopts the LCI update of the BMW M road vehicles and receives new front and rear headlights.
“We look back with pride on the first two years of the BMW M4 GT4, which has won races and titles from the start – and in the hands of many different teams around the world,” added BMW works driver Jens Klingmann.
“We have an excellent base, but there is always room to make a good car even better. We have succeeded in doing this with the BMW M4 GT4 EVO, in my view. Durability and drivability are noticeably optimised by the new splitter and by an even more finely adjustable traction control.
“I hope, therefore, that we will be able to celebrate even more victories and titles from next season.”
The price for the BMW M4 GT4 EVO complete package is 219,000 euros net.
The individual price for the EVO package, for current M4 GT4 customers that wish to update their current car, is 16,000 euros net.
During the fourth quarter of 2024, both the complete packages and the individual EVO kits will be delivered to customer teams to ensure that starts with the BMW M4 GT4 EVO are possible from the first race of the 2025 season.
