Races At Donington To Bookend 2025 British GT Season

Oulton Park moved to May at the request of the teams

SRO has announced that Donington Park will host the opening round of the British GT Championship, as well as the season finale, in 2025.

The decision to move the annual Oulton Park meeting to May, revealed today along with the full schedule for next year, is weather-related and has been made by the organisers after consultation with the teams.

“It’s a very successful series. We had a request from the teams, because Oulton Park was a little bit complicated this year because of the weather. It’s not always the best and the circuit is narrow,” Stephane Ratel, the founder of SRO said at today’s conference.

“We had a strong push from the teams not to start at Oulton Park, so here is the result. There is no doubt that British GT will continue to be a success.”

With Donington Park taking over as the host of the season opener, Oulton Park has been shuffled to host the third event of the year in May, after the Silverstone 500 in April.

Once again the teams will travel to Spa-Francorchamps for the championship’s annual ‘away day’ in June for Spa Speedweek, before the final leg of the season which features races at Snetterton, Brands Hatch and at Donington Park.
