Felipe Fraga set the fastest time in Practice 2 for tomorrow’s IMSA Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.
Driving the blue and orange #74 Riley Oreca LMP2 07, Fraga set the top time at 1:08.221 early in the 90-minute session. He was just over a tenth ahead of the #8 Tower Motorsport Oreca driven by Renger van der Zande in second.
Rounding out the top five in LMP2 was Colin Braun in the #04 CrowdStrike Racing by APR car, Ben Hanley in the #2 United Autosports USA machine, and then the #99 AO Racing car of Louis Deletraz.
With qualifying upcoming, AO Racing’s PJ Hyett was the fastest Bronze driver in LMP2, setting a 1:09.384.
In GTD Pro, Jack Hawksworth in the #14 Vasser Sullivan Lexus RC F GT3 set a new unofficial course record as he led the class with a 1:14.821. That surpasses Hawksworth’s benchmark from last year’s qualifying session in the same car.
Madison Snow also went under the 2023 course record with a 1:14.952 in the #1 Paul Miller Racing BMW M4 GT3, good enough for second in class.
The two Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports cars were third and fourth, with the #4 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R of Tommy Milner leading the #3 of Alexander Sims; Seb Priaulx was fifth-fastest in the #77 AO Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R.
There was little to separate the top three in GTD – just 0.036 at the end covered Loris Spinelli in the #78 Forte Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3, Parker Thompson in the #12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus, and Mikaël Grenier in the #32 Korthoff/Preston Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3.
