Cadillac Racing has revealed that Hertz Team JOTA will operate its expanded two-car FIA WEC Hypercar effort with the V-Series.R in the 2025 season.
The Tunbridge Wells-based team will switch from its two-car privateer Hypercar effort with Porsche to a factory deal with GM and take over from Chip Ganassi Racing as Cadillac’s WEC service provider.
The team will be referred to as Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA and not Cadillac Racing, the team name used since the start of the 2023 season when CGR and Cadillac joined the WEC’s top category.
“Cadillac is proud to be racing against the best in the world as part of the FIA World Endurance Championship, and that includes Hertz Team JOTA,” said John Roth, vice president, Global Cadillac.
“We are thrilled to welcome Hertz Team JOTA next year, bringing decades of racing and technical expertise together, to achieve continued success on the track and create new advocates for our brand around the globe.”
This effort for JOTA will be its first as a factory team and comes after over a decade of success in LMP2, which includes multiple Le Mans class wins and 10 podium finishes at La Sarthe between 2014 and 2022. It also has an overall WEC race win to its name. Back in May it became the first (and so far only) privateer Hypercar team to win a WEC race overall in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

Having competed against the Cadillac V-Series.R for the last two seasons, we have experienced how competitive it is and we are genuinely honoured to be entrusted with fielding its cars from 2025 onward,” added Sam Hignett, director and founder, Hertz Team JOTA.

The shift from Chip Ganassi Racing to JOTA for Cadillac comes months after the GM brand opted to cut ties with CGR after the 2024 season.
The final decision for Cadillac’s new WEC team was months in the making and followed a lengthy selection process which DSC understands featured at least two other high-profile teams.
The move will coincide with the introduction of a new two-car mandate for manufacturers competing in the FIA WEC, which comes into force next season.
Drivers for JOTA’s #12 and #38 V-Series.R will be announced in due course, along with a formal reveal of the team that will replace Ganassi for Cadillac’s effort in IMSA GTP, which is widely expected to be Acura’s current factory team, WTRAndretti.
