There are a couple of changes to the entry list for this weekend’s GT World Challenge America races at Road America.
Following the announcement that Conor Daly will finish the remainder of the 2024 IndyCar Series season with Juncos Hollinger Racing, Random Vandals Racing has appointed Madison Snow as Daly’s replacement in the debuting #99 BMW M4 GT3.
Daly will be unavailable for Road America as his first start with Juncos Hollinger takes place Saturday evening at World Wide Technology Raceway (formerly Gateway Motorsports Park) – 700 kilometres south of Road America. He will return to the team for the final two rounds at Barber Motorsports Park and the Indianapolis 8 Hour.
“We had a little curve ball from Conor, but it’s for all the right reasons, and I am very happy for him,” said Paul Sparta, RVR’s Team Principal and GT4 America driver. “Thankfully, we only had a single conflict, and Conor will be back in our M4 GT3 testing mid-week at IMS. I cannot thank BMW Motorsport and Madison Snow enough for stepping in on short notice. Madison is a super person and has had a brief run already in our car. His experience will be a huge benefit to the team.”
BMW M works driver Snow is the reigning IMSA GTD Champion at the wheel of the M4 GT3 – he also made five appearances in GT World Challenge America last season, scoring three class wins as a relief driver at Wright Motorsports.
“I’m looking forward to being able to drive with Random Vandals and Kenton for their GT3 debut at Road America,” said Snow. “Kenton is someone I have grown up seeing at the track and have raced against him on many occasions so being able to drive with him is a nice change! I believe we have a good shot at ending up on the podium in our BMW this weekend.”
This follows up on Saturday’s announcement from DXDT Racing that 19-year-old Bryson Morris will step into the #08 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, replacing Scott Smithson who has parted ways with the team.
Morris, currently running full-time in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, will make his first competitive GT3 start in his home country – sharing the #08 Corvette with Bryan Sellers.
He does have previous GT3 experience – winning the Creventic 12 Hours of Mugello in 2022 alongside Samantha Tan and Nick Wittmer, the first overall win for the BMW M4 GT3 in global competition.
“I’m super excited and honoured to race with DXDT Racing this weekend at Road America,” said Morris. “It will be my GT3 debut in the U.S., and I could not ask for a better team to do it with. We had a strong test together not too long ago and I believe we will be in strong contention to at least be on the podium.”
With FIA Silver-graded Morris replacing Bronze-graded Smithson, the #08 Corvette is certain to join the sister #63 car of Alec Udell and Tommy Milner in the Pro class this weekend.
