United Autosports has confirmed that it will return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2025 with its pair of LMP2 class Gibson-powered ORECA 07s.
The team debuted as a full season LMP2 team in the championship this year with its #2 and #22 ORECAs and Ben Keating and Dan Goldburg as the Bronze drivers. The move to IMSA co-incided with the LMP2 class being axed from the FIA WEC for 2024 to free up grid space for the growing Hypercar category and debuting LMGT3 field.
To help ensure the transition was smooth, United Autosports set up a new arm in the USA. Its IMSA effort is based and run out of a facility in Mooresville, North Carolina, as part of a partnership with JR III Racing.

Highlights in the 2024 season thus far have included the #2 winning the Motul Pole Award in LMP2 qualifying for the Rolex 24 At Daytona and a first class victory earlier this month at Road America.
The #22 ORECA has qualified second three times already with a season-best race finish of third place in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Cadillac.
United will confirm its driver crews for the two cars at a later date.
Confirmation of United’s programme continuing follows the news that AF Corse is also set to return to IMSA’s LMP2 class next year.
