Dubai-based Dragon Racing look set to step up to a full season in the 2024/ 2025 Asian Le Mans Series after contesting the UAE rounds of last season.
The team are pushing to field one of their pair of Ferrari 296 GT3s for all six races in Sepang, Dubai and yes Marina with the second car added in the UAE.
The ACO series adds a flyaway arm to an already busy programme in the Gulf region for Dragon that will again likely see the team with a 2 car Ferrari 296 entry in January’s Dubai 24hrs. The addition of a customer GT3 effort to the squad looks likely too at this stage.
Yas Marina’s Gulf 12 Hours looks set to be targeted too with one of the team’s Ferrari’s entered, again alongside a customer effort (again with a Ferrari).
24H Series’ Abu Dhabi 6 Hours should see Dragon handling a pair of customer GT3 efforts.
Away from the international enduro scene in the region there are other developments that are fuelling increased participation in GT and one-make racing.
The regional Gulf Procar championship now has an enduro race added on the Sunday’s of the meetings with 5-8 GT3 cars entered from various teams throughout the season. Dragon serve as service providers and co-ordinators for the Series.
And there is an exciting new era about to dawn in Ferrari Challenge too, Dragon Racing handle the Ferrari Challenge Middle East with a substantial customer fleet prepared on site at Dragon Racing. The era of the Ferrari 488 Challenge though is coming to an end with the new Ferrari 296 Challenge rolling out. Deliveries begin in Q4 of 2024 for the Middle East ahead of a 2025 launch of the new category in the region.
