Iron Lynx has confirmed that Luca Engstler will join the previously confirmed Maximillian Paul in the #19 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 at this weekend’s Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Engstler and Paul’s appointments are the result of a clash of dates with GT World Challenge Europe’s endurance round at Monza on the same weekend. Mirko Bortolotti will be representing Iron Lynx at Monza, while Franck Perera and Jordan Pepper will be in the same race driving for Grasser Racing Team.
Bortolotti, Perera, and Pepper finished third in GTD Pro at the Sebring 12 Hours, the #19 Lamborghini’s best finish in three previous Michelin Endurance Cup rounds.
Meanwhile, Engstler, the 24-year-old Lamborghini GT3 Junior Driver, will make his IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship debut at Indianapolis. The second-generation driver scored his first Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) victory earlier this year at Oschersleben. He also leads the Gold Cup standings in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup with two class victories at Brands Hatch and Hockenheim.
Paul, a Lamborghini Young Professional Driver, is making his first IMSA appearance since the 2022 Daytona 24 Hours. Last season, he won in his debut DTM race meeting at the Nürburgring, and also finished fourth in the International GT Open standings with four victories.
They’ll be accompanied by the #63 Lamborghini SC63 driven by Matteo Cairoli, Andrea Caldarelli, and Romain Grosjean in the GTP class, and the #85 Iron Dames Huracán GT3 featuring Sarah Bovy, Rahel Frey, and Michelle Gatting.
