The 2025 European Le Mans Series calendar has been revealed today by LMEM. It features six four-hour races once again, and a round at Silverstone for the first time since 2019.
The season is set to get underway at the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya with a pre-season Prologue test at the end of March before the opening round on April 6th.
From there the teams will travel to Paul Ricard in France for the 4 Hours of Le Castellet on May 4th before Le Mans.
After the Le Mans 24 Hours in June, the ELMS season resumes with the trip to Italy for the 4 Hours of Imola on July 6th. Notably, the round at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari is the only ELMS race scheduled for Italy, after the ELMS travelled to both Imola and Mugello this year.
Spa is up next, with the annual ELMS race at the fabled Belgian circuit set to be held on August 22nd-24th, before the return of the 4 Hours of Silverstone for the penultimate round of the season on September 14th.
DSC understands that Silverstone’s long-awaited return to the calendar will not see the ELMS teams utilise the ‘Wing’ pit lane. The National pits will be used, like they were when the ELMS held races at the circuit as part of double-header weekends with the FIA WEC.
It will also be the first time that the ELMS’ supports series – the Le Mans Cup and Ligier European Series – have held rounds in the UK.
The season finale will then take place at Portimao on October 18th.
“Once again the European Le Mans Series calendar features a selection of circuit, each with a variety of challenges to test both the car and the driver. The ACO is extremely pleased to see the ELMS returning to the UK for the first time since 2019, giving the British fans a taste of Le Mans at home at Silverstone,” said Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest.
“The ELMS has firmly established itself as the leading European endurance series. With grids of over 40 cars, featuring a great mix of Le Mans Prototypes and GTs, and some of the top drivers and teams from around the world.nnIt looks like the 2025 season is going to deliver even more.”
Frédéric Lequien, the CEO of Le Mans Endurance Management (LMEM) added: “With six 4-hour races on six of Europe’s leading circuits – five of which have featured for the past few seasons – the 2025 ELMS calendar provides teams and drivers with stability and different challenges, while promising exciting racing for our many fans around the world to enjoy whether in person at the track or watching at home.
“We are especially pleased to announce the return to the UK following a six-year absence, reintroducing an event that was always well-attended in the past. My thanks go to Stuart Pringle and his team, and we are eagerly anticipating the 4 Hours of Silverstone next September. We look forward to welcoming all of our competitors, partners, fans and media in 2025.”
