18-year-old Danish racer Conrad Laursen will join AKKODIS ASP for the final round of the 2024 FIA WEC season in Bahrain, replacing Clemens Schmid in the #78 RC F LMGT3.
The Dane will compete with ASP for the first time after spending the 2024 European Le Mans Series season competing alongside his father – Johnny Laursen – in the series’ LMGT3 class with Formula Racing. His best result so far came in the season opener, where he won his class on debut at Barcelona back in April.
The 8 Hours of Bahrain will be his second taste of life in the FIA WEC’s LMGT3 field after his appearance with Spirit of Race at the Le Mans 24 Hours in June.
Schmid meanwhile, departs the ASP team after a partial season campaign in the #78, which began at Spa back in May. His best finish with the team came at Lone Star Le Mans, where alongside Arnold Robin and Kelvin van der Linde, he finished ninth in class.
