GM Motorsports has confirmed that both Laura Wontrop Klauser (above, left), its sports car racing programme manager and Christie Bagne (above, right), its Corvette Z06 GT3.R programme manager, will leave their posts at the end of the 2024 racing season.
They will be replaced, respectively, by Keely Bosn and Jessica Dane, both of whom currently work within the General Motors organisation.
A statement on the matter supplied to DSC by General Motors reads:
“Motorsports is a platform to hone engineering and leadership skills in a fast-paced highly competitive race environment. Rotating team members back into production and corporate programmes is part of our core “why we race” mission. Having experience in motorsports programmes helps to enrich our team members’ careers and make GM a stronger company.
“At the conclusion of the 2024 season, Laura Wontrop Klauser will transition from the role of GM Sports Car Racing Program Manager back to production, joining the Global Hardware Systems and Integration Team as Engineering Group Leader. Concurrently, Christie Bagne, Corvette Z06 GT3.R Program Manager, will transition to Corporate Strategy as a Senior Analyst.
“Keely Bosn, currently Future Tech & Mobility Planning Manager in the Competitor Intelligence, Technology and Mobility Planning organization at GM, will join GM Motorsports as the Cadillac Racing Program Manager.
“Jessica Dane, currently the Motorsports Integration Manager in GM Motorsports, will become the Corvette Racing Program Manager for all Corvette GT3 programmes.”
DSC understands that Wontrop Klauser, who took over as the head of GM’s sportscar division back in 2021, is set to be on site in Bahrain for the 2024 FIA WEC season finale this weekend, for a final race event in her current role.
Bagne meanwhile, was due to travel to the Middle East but has had her travel plans scuppered by illness. She leaves her role after being appointed to oversee Corvette’s transition from factory GTE competition to customer racing in GT3 just last year.
