UPDATE: TDS Racing has revealed that Alpine Hypercar driver Charles Milesi will also join the team in 2025. The Frenchman will compete with it at the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona in January.
TDS Racing has officially announced it will retain the three drivers that powered the team to the 2024 IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup title for the 2025 season.
TDS Racing already announced on 5 September that Steven Thomas and Peugeot TotalEnergies factory driver Mikkel Jensen will run the full season in their #11 ORECA 07-Gibson LMP2.
Today, alongside Thomas and Jensen, New Zealand’s Hunter McElrea was confirmed as the Silver-graded driver for the five-race 2025 Endurance Cup campaign. It’ll be his second sports car racing campaign, following a successful season which also saw the 2023 Indy NXT Championship runner-up make his IndyCar Series debut at the Honda Indy Toronto.
McElrea, Jensen, and Thomas took LMP2 honours at the Battle on the Bricks at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta to take the Endurance Cup title, on top of a second-place finish at the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring.
Thomas finished fourth in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship LMP2 standings with an additional third-place finish at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (formerly Mosport) alongside substitute driver Scott Huffaker, while TDS Racing was fourth in the full-season Teams’ Championship. Meanwhile, Jensen gave the 2024 Peugeot 9X8 its first podium at the season-ending WEC 8 Hours of Bahrain.
In a brief statement released on their social media accounts, TDS Racing remarked: “With exciting challenges ahead on iconic U.S. circuits, our team is ready to rise to the challenge and aim for podium finishes.”
TDS Racing is one of several teams present at this weekend’s IMSA-sanctioned post-season test at Daytona International Speedway, as they prepare for the 63rd annual Rolex 24 at Daytona on 25/26 January 2025.
