Lamborghini has confirmed that its previously-announced IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup programme will be the only activity for the SC63 prototype in 2025.
Reaffirming its commitment to IMSA for the 2025 season, a single factory-supported Lamborghini SC63 will take part in the Michelin Endurance Cup. The car will continue its presence in IMSA with the Italian manufacturer announcing “the full programme for the SC63 to be confirmed in due course.”
Romain Grosjean will return to drive the IMSA GTP Lamborghini alongside the three former drivers of the abandoned FIA WEC effort: Mirko Bortolotti, Daniil Kvyat, and Edoardo Mortara – with exact combinations to be decided on a race-by-race basis.
This Christmas Eve update comes amidst speculation that the SC63 will have a new service provider for the 2025 campaign. PREMA Racing, under the Iron Lynx banner, ran the car in four races in 2024 and at the IMSA Sanctioned Test at Daytona International Speedway in November, where it recorded the fastest time across two days of testing for the GTP class.
However, despite the testing form, and despite the SC63 being one of the 61 provisional entries for the 63rd annual Rolex 24 at Daytona, there is a possibility that a late change in service provider will preclude the car from competing in the event for a second consecutive year.
IMSA has also released the garage assignments for the Rolex 24 and the preceding Roar Before the 24 tests, where Iron Lynx has been dropped from the #63 Lamborghini’s official entrant name.
